Belmont is a suburb of Hunter Valley, New South Wales and is about 102 kms north-northeast of NSW's capital city of Sydney. In the 2011 Australian census the population of Belmont was 6,420 when there were 3,356 Females and 3,064 Males living there. The median age for people living in Belmont was 43. Belmont is a suburb in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Newcastle's central business district on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie and is part of the City of Lake Macquarie. Belmont is situated o a sandy peninsula formed by the Tasman Sea on the east and Lake Macquarie.
