Berala is a western suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia, located 20 kilometres west of the central business district, in the local government area of Cumberland Council. A small group of shops is located beside the Berala railway station. A Woolworths is located next to the train station. Berala is about 16 kms west of NSW's capital city of Sydney. In the most recent Australian census the population of Berala was 8,799.
