St Helens Beach is a small town within the local government area of the Mackay Regional Council Queensland. St Helens is located about 68 kilometres north of Mackay. St Helens Beach is rarely visited by tourists but favoured by locals looking for quiet and relaxed holiday spots. The beach is about 2.3 kilometres long, which is backed by a large area of over a hundred resiential homes. Fishing is popular by the creek and around the rock flats and mangroves during high tide. The St Helens beach is narrow and sandy because it lies in lee of Rabbit Island, which protects it from the waves. The St Helens Beach camping area can be accessed via Murrays Road and is near more than 30 beaches.
